Licenses and copyright
Epidemiologia&Prevenzione offers two different publication options:
- Free: content accessible only to subscribers, under a standard licence with copyright transferred to the publisher;
- Article Processing Charges: open-access content available to everyone, under a licence chosen by the authors. In this case, authors are required to pay a fee
Licenses and copyright
Standard license (free publication)
The authors transfer the copyright to the publisher under an exclusive licence. The authors are permitted to use their own material for educational purposes with a limited number of learners.
APC License (open access publication)
To obtain an open access and fast-track license, authors are required to pay a fee [link a tariffe open access] and to complete, sign and submit to the editorial office the form specifying the type of license to be assigned (see list below).
The payment of the fee and the license selection form are required from authors ONLY IF the manuscript is accepted for publication.
License 4.0 CC BY (Attribution)
This license allows a work to be copied, altered, distributed, presented and performed only under the condition that the author is identified. It is a license that guarantees the broadest freedoms for the licensee.
License 4.0 CC BY-NC (Attribution–Non-commercial)
This license allows the work to be copied, modified, remixed, distributed, presented and performed for non-commercial purposes only. However, this condition does not include derivative works, which may be covered by another license.
License 4.0 CC BY-SA (Attribution–Share-alike)
This license allows a work to be copied, altered, distributed, presented and performed as long as the same license is granted to dependent works. For example: this is the license used by Wikipedia and its sister projects.
License 4.0 CC BY-NC-SA (Attribution–Non-commercial–Share-alike)
This license allows you to distribute, display, and perform the work only for non-commercial purposes and as long as derivative works are also covered by the same license.
License 4.0 CC BY-NC-ND (Attribution–Non-commercial–No derivative works)
This license allows the distribution, presentation, and performance of the work only for non-commercial purposes and provided that it is kept in its original form (no derivative works). This is the most restrictive of the licenses.

Reusing non-open access material
All requests to reuse material that is not covered by an open access licence must be sent to the publisher at the following email address: epiprev@inferenze.it
In your letter, you must specify which material you intend to reproduce and the purpose of its use. The publisher reserves the right to assess each request and may require payment.
